Wallpapering

Wallpapering in Edinburgh

Feature walls, full rooms and commercial spaces, hung on properly prepared walls with accurate pattern matching and neat, tight joins.

Hallway hung with grey tartan wallpaper above a dark painted dado

Wallpaper that looks right from every angle

Wallpaper is unforgiving. Uneven walls, poorly matched patterns and visible seams stand out immediately. We take care over the preparation and setting out of every room, so the pattern sits straight, joins are tight and edges finish cleanly around doors, windows and fittings.

What we hang

  • Feature walls

A single statement wall behind a bed, sofa or fireplace.

  • Full rooms

Bedrooms, living rooms, halls and stairwells papered throughout.

  • Patterned and bold designs

Large repeats, tartans and geometrics matched accurately.

  • Lining paper

Lining walls before papering or painting for a smoother finish.

We paper in homes, hotels and commercial premises, and often combine wallpaper with painted panelling or dado rails.

Preparation

  • Stripping existing wallpaper and cleaning down the walls
  • Filling and sanding to give a flat, even surface
  • Sizing or priming walls so the paper adheres properly
  • Lining walls where the surface needs it
  • Setting out the pattern so it’s centred and balanced in the room

What you can expect

  • Advice on how many rolls you’ll need, based on the room and the pattern repeat
  • A written quote covering stripping, preparation and hanging
  • Careful handling of your chosen paper and tidy working throughout

FAQs

Wallpapering questions

Can’t see your question? Call 07791 593452 or email us.

Do you supply the wallpaper?

Most customers choose and buy their own paper. We’ll tell you how many rolls to order, allowing for the room size and pattern repeat, and advise on anything to check before you buy.

Can you remove our old wallpaper?

Yes. Stripping old paper and preparing the walls is part of the job, and we’ll include it in your quotation.

Should our walls be lined first?

Lining paper helps on uneven or older walls and gives the finished paper a smoother base. We’ll let you know if we think it’s worthwhile once we’ve seen the walls.

Can you combine wallpaper with painted panelling?

Yes. Pairing wallpaper with painted panelling or a dado is a popular approach, and something we’ve completed in both homes and commercial spaces.
